What we Do

SCROLL DOWN

What we Do

To learn from each other and enable collaboration that defines our mission. Therefore we provide all partner cities with a collective memory and access to each others materials and experiences. Our core responsibility is to enable you to continuously unlock the opportunities and address the challenges of the sharing and platform economy. We accomplish this by (co-)organizing summits, facilitating online seminars, sharing each month's highlights in an inspiring magazine, working with city teams one-on-one, and by collecting everything, including case studies, research and policies in a comprehensive digital database.

Basically, the Sharing Cities Alliance Foundation offers all partner cities the tools, knowledge and network to apply the opportunities and address the challenges of the sharing economy and digital platforms.

ALEX

ALEX

THE ALLIANCE LEXICON

The Alliance Lexicon (ALEX) is the Sharing Cities Alliance's searchable, continuously evolving database featuring a comprehensive collection of the most up to date research, reports, case studies, policies, regulations, and market developments in the sharing economy, in addition to gathering all information on Alliance core activities in one place.

Resources on ALEX are crowdsourced from cities in the Alliance and curated by the Alliance team. It is the collective memory of the cities in the Alliance. You can ask ALEX any question 24/7 and ALEX will do its best to answer you.

ALEX is currently exclusive to Sharing Cities Alliance member cities. The Sharing Cities Alliance Foundation is working with (and looking for) partners to turn ALEX into a database openly accessible for everyone.

Online Seminars

Online Seminars

ONLINE SEMINARS

At least four times a year we co-organise an online seminar with a city from the Alliance. As a member of the Alliance, you will be invited to engage with teams from other cities to learn from each other and collaborate. Topics for the seminars are crowdsourced from the network and lead up to our annual Sharing Cities Summit, to be hosted in Barcelona in 2018.

PREVIOUS SEMINARS

PREVIEW OF OUR LATEST SEMINAR WITH GOTHENBURG

The online seminar was hosted by Tove Lund, Coordinator of the Testbed Sharing City Gothenburg and Emma Öhrwall and Jonathan Mattebo Persson, both co-founders of Collaborative Economy Gothenburg, on the 24th of May 2018. The goal of this seminar was to collaboratively learn how city governments can encourage locals and visitors to live sustainable, facilitate new ways of connecting and stimulate sharing rather than owning. An inspiring example is Gothenburg’s Smart Map, a tool that maps the sharing economy in this Swedish city and includes over 100 sharing initiatives.
